‘Fixit’ stations installed to encourage cycling in wards 3 and 4
Six new Dero Fixit bicycle repair stations should help riders tweak their brakes or pump their tires, and generally improve the local bike-riding experience, say two councillors who’re having six of them installed in their wards.
The stations were unveiled Friday at one of the sites — outside the new Windsor Public Library W.F. Chisholm Branch in Memorial Park. CUPE Local 82, the outside workers at city hall, contributed half the $12,000 cost with Ward 3 Coun. Rino Bortolin and Ward 4 Coun. Chris Holt chipping in $3,000 each from the ward funds they’re given for such small-scale improvement projects.
The stations are spread out in parks throughout the two wards that comprise the downtown core and the area directly to the east.
